Md Towsif-Ur-Rahman, JnU Correspondent: After 18 years of accreditation in 2005, Jagannath University has repeatedly highlighted its achievements in the world court. Renowned teachers and students and glorious examples of their achievements have placed Jagannath University at the forefront of the country.

According to the government’s plan, Jagannath University has been given the main responsibility for conducting the GST admission test in the country.

By doing this, Jagannath University was added to the cluster admission test system of 21 universities, excluding its own admission test system.

Although the name of Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Rajshahi University, Chittagong University etc. are mentioned as public universities, the name of Jagannath University does not come up with the same pride to the students anymore. Jagannath University has been termed as a government university rather than a public university in a notification of the Department of Education.

Being included in the cluster, the dream of the students to get admission in Jagannath University is no more. If they got a chance in any university by taking the cluster exam, they responded.

In the last two years, Jagannath University has faced various criticisms from Guccho (GST) , how much chaos has happened in JnU.

The current students of Jagannath University are angry with this and their opinion is that Jagannath University is relying on the bunch as it is incapable of its own admission process.

Many senior teachers of the university are also paying tribute. Jagannath University is not able to come out of the bunch due to flattery or lack of courage to say no to government decisions.

Leaders of the Jagannath University Teachers’ Association have already expressed their strong protest over the lack of clusters in its notification.

Jagannath University, which stands out from the crowd, needs to be the first target now to maintain the university’s uniqueness and standards considering the common students.
