Md Towsif-ur-Rahman, JnU Correspondent: In the light of Jagannath University Scholarship Policy-2013, it has been decided to provide merit scholarship and unpaid study to the students studying in the first year of graduation (2019-20 session) for one academic year. Students need to apply online for merit scholarships and unpaid studies.
The matter was confirmed in a circular signed by Jagannath University Registrar Engineer Md. Ohiduzzaman.
The notification says, student. erp.jnu.ac.bd ie after logging in to the student login panel, you can apply by clicking on the “Apply for scholarship” link on the right. Concerned students will be able to submit the application online from 14-04-2021 to 12-5-2021 by filling in the information correctly.Applications received after the mentioned period will not be accepted.
The notification further said that the concerned department will download the applications of the students who have entered in the prescribed link and will send the second part along with the recommendation to the examination controller’s office by 24-5-2021 as per the rules. The third part of the application will be properly verified and the comments will be sent to the Registrar’s Office by 3-6-2021. The department also encourages students with disabilities to apply if they are studying in the department.
It is learned that according to the Scholarship Policy 2013, only in the academic year 2019-20, undergraduate (honors) / equivalent 1st year students will be given merit scholarship at the rate of Rs. 400 per month for 3 students in each department for one academic year.
Apart from merit scholarships, 10% indigent meritorious students studying in each department in the academic year 2019-20 will be given the opportunity to study in the university without pay. The list of students who are eligible to study without pay should have the opinion of the departmental academic committee as per the policy.
It may be mentioned that in the academic year 2018-19, 1,117 meritorious students were given merit and unpaid scholarships by Jagannath University. Out of which 306 were given merit scholarships at the undergraduate level, 610 were given unpaid scholarships and 40 students were given merit scholarships and 69 were given unpaid scholarships at the postgraduate level.
