Md Towsif ur Rahman,JnU Correspondent : Recently, some pages on the social media Facebook are sharing misleading statuses against the Jagannath University Teachers’ Association on the occasion of the Jagannath University Day celebration. In this mix of truth and falsehood, confusion has been created for everyone about the real mystery.

One such incident is that students are trolling about the activities of the Teachers’ Association as they posted on various pages that it was not possible to bring James to the university day due to the objection of the Job Teachers’ Association. An anonymous professor again said, “Rumors of bringing James in JnU were spread to cover up the Teachers Association press conference Treasurer Professor Dr. Kamaluddin Ahmed.”

But to know the truth of the incident, when Professor Dr. Kamaluddin Ahmad, who is currently in charge of the JnU was asked about this, he said that we could not bring James because of security concerns from the DMP. As the puja started from the next day, they were unable to provide sufficient force for security from the police administration. He also said that the leaders of the teachers’ association proposed to consider the matter of not celebrating the University Day with much grandeur by excluding the Vice-Chancellor Sir due to his illness.
But James was not brought mainly for security reasons. Otherwise James would have come in Jagannath.
In the incident, the general secretary of the teachers’ association, Professor Dr. A.K.M Lutfar Rahman said that the teachers’ association had only proposed to consider the matter of not celebrating the University Day in a grand manner by excluding the Vice-Chancellor due to illness. There was no opposition to bringing James. Personally, I myself was glad to know that James would come.
But a group was trying to create negative reactions among ordinary students by presenting the speech of this leader of the teachers’ association in a different way in Facebook.
Meanwhile, on Thursday (October 19), the University Day celebrations began in the absence of teachers’ union leaders.
After national anthem, hoisting the flag and flying pigeons, they were called to the mike to auspiciously inaugurate the event.At this time, the leaders of the association want to know why they were not called to celebrate the university day? Even they were not called to any work in the last days. Later the matter ended there and the leaders of the association joined him (Vice-Chancellor) in all subsequent functions.
Jagannath University Teachers Association has been working in the interest of the university. In the context of their demand, a single admission test will be held across Bangladesh from next time in which all the public universities of Bangladesh including Dhaka University will participate.
Besides, keeping an eye on speeding up the work of the new campus, protecting the interests of the teachers and students of the university, demanding the appointment of VC and treasurer from Jagannath University, they are taking various bold steps.
