“JnU offline activities suspended till Feb 6; offline exams to be decided on Sunday”

Md Towsif-ur-Rahman,JnU Correspondent: Government has announced the closing of all the schools & colleges till February 06 due to the outbreak of COVID again. Jagannath University Authority has decided to postponed offline classes till further notice. But online Classes will be continued.

Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Imdadul Haque said in a virtual interview over phone that it has been decided to close the campus as per the government instructions. Until further notice, the campus will be closed until February 6.

Asked about the fact that some departments, especially most of the science faculties, have two or three final exams yet to be held, he said that if the departments themselves think that the exams can be taken in compliance with the hygiene rules, they will take them. Infact, the department will decide whether they will take Viva or examinations offline.

Further update on taking the rest of the examinations offline will be finalized on Sunday.

When Dean of Faculty of Science, Prof. Dr. Rabindra Nath Mondal was asked, he said that the offline classes will be suspended till feb 6. He further added that they will hold a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor to decide whether to finish the rest of the exams offline, as a few examinations are left of some departments.
